Developing and maintaining a clear identity of who you are is a central struggle for every leader. The degree of achievement will define your level autonomy, influence which roles you choose and shape your relationship with others. Control Orientation and Intention
Leaders are geared to create impact, but vary on the extent they are guided by an inner calling. The orientation to control indicates how, as a leader, you hold yourself personally responsible to define strategies and drive implementation. People Orientation and Inclusion
Leaders with a distinct people orientation will recognise that attaining desired outcomes is also the result of collaboration and inclusion. A high orientation will emphasise being part of a community and relying on others to cope with complexity.
About the Activating Designer
You have a clear vision of your goals and direct all your energy towards reaching them. You are continuously developing new ideas. You can delegate tasks to your team and communicate your goals when necessary.
You always have plenty of ideas, but you should also think each one through carefully. Otherwise you risk acting on impulse and lack giving the necessary structure and guidance for your team to perform.
New ideas can change the world. You have a feeling for what is needed on the road to success. Your employees are there to support you in reaching those goals. With clear structures and a transparent allocation of tasks, every idea bears the seed to carry fruit.
The more ideas you have lying around the harder it will be to keep track of them all. Pick an idea that you are currently working on or that is a priority.
Do you know the SMART method?
S – specific: Frame your idea as a goal. Be as specific as possible. You can also use numbers in your definition.
M – measurable: The goal should be measurable. Specificity is a soldi start, but quantifying your goals makes it easier to track your progress and know when you have reached the hallway point.
A – attractive: Of course. Your goal should appeal to you and also be appealing to your leadership style. R – relevant: It is crucial to dream and not to let others downgrade your goals. But staying realistic is just as important! Here’s where you need to think about the big picture. Why are you setting the goal that you’re setting?
T – time-bound: To properly measure success, you and your team need to be on the same page about when a goal has been reached.. A time scale helps to set and check stages and maintain motivation.
If you can turn your idea into a SMART goal, you’ve already done more than most leaders. You can use your SMART goals as a blueprint and lead your team from there.
